New chick owner

Thank you for the kind words! I've had large livestock for most of my life so I've unfortunately had to make tough calls in the past. But I truly think that the animals will tell you with their actions when it's time to go. The little chick had a good burial and a loving last few days, that's all I could ask for.
I'm sorry it past :( you did incredibly well.

You obviously are very much in tune with animal's :) I'll be looking forward to your future posts

Hi there :)

I hope this little one can pull through 🤞. It's amazing you got it this far well done

I hope you can add a few pictures of your other birds.

Welcome too BYC
Here is a pic of my healthy chicks the day I brought them home on Friday. I'll get an updated one later today. They ranged from 3 days to a week old then. I improvised since I don't have a brooder. I have them in a large dog crate, wrapped in a heating blanket with a heating pad (old school one that doesn't shut off) under a couple towels. Then some pine shavings on top of that. Lol. It works though because they are happy and not huddling together.
I ended up having to euthanize the little one. The little nugget was going downhill fast and I didn't want it to suffer.

Thank you and wishing you every success with these little ones. They look really cozy :)

So here's a pic of my flock taken last night during cleaning time. I check and handle each one every night while transferring to the box and back. And pics of them all cozy for the night. Please let me know if you see anything that I could improve upon or any suggestions! Thank you! Also I know some are Easter Egg, but there were other breeds he mentioned too. What age will I be able to figure out what breed they all are? I know the big one is EE because it for sure has the little puffs on the side of its face.
