I'm sorry it pastThank you for the kind words! I've had large livestock for most of my life so I've unfortunately had to make tough calls in the past. But I truly think that the animals will tell you with their actions when it's time to go. The little chick had a good burial and a loving last few days, that's all I could ask for.
And we can learn from youThank you everyone for the advise on my little chick and the lovely welcome! I am sure I will learn a LOT here.![]()
Here is a pic of my healthy chicks the day I brought them home on Friday. I'll get an updated one later today. They ranged from 3 days to a week old then. I improvised since I don't have a brooder. I have them in a large dog crate, wrapped in a heating blanket with a heating pad (old school one that doesn't shut off) under a couple towels. Then some pine shavings on top of that. Lol. It works though because they are happy and not huddling together.Hi there
I hope this little one can pull through. It's amazing you got it this far well done
I hope you can add a few pictures of your other birds.
Welcome too BYC

I ended up having to euthanize the little one. The little nugget was going downhill fast and I didn't want it to suffer.
