I have 5 spioled chickens born last Feb. Added one born this Feb. They are not interacting hardly at all. The 5 stay in one spot and the new in another corner. It's been a week & no interacting except fighting at roost time. Wouldn't it be better to keep them all in our roomy run vs free ranging to force the pecking order? And then resume the free range?

No.
As long as the loner isn't being attacked, let them work it out at their own pace. 1 week is nowhere near enough time for them to integrate.

Thank you. The top 2 run at her when they get near her. 2 just peck at her neck & 1 seems perfectly fine with her, even roosting with her
My husband and I were at odds on what it best. Appreciate it. We just let them out. I started today with keeping them in the run.
