It's an egg carton with the sides cut down to about 1/3 of an inch. It does make turning them easier, but I used it cause it stops the eggs from being banged around by hatching chicks.

These chicks are a little scary-they are sooo darn smart. I put them in the brooder and they went right for the food and water, no waiting.
