Hi All,
Just taking a moment to introduce myself. I joined BYC recently but have been using it as a resource for learning about chickens & raising chicks for the last few months. We finally got our chicks this week- a mixed flock including Easter & Olive Eggers, a Cochin, a Barred Rock, a Buff Orpington, a Silkie/Polish and a Mille Fleur d'Uccle.
The rest of our family includes 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. We live in Central FL but are my husband & I are from Columbus, Ohio.
We are new to chickens but love all types of animals.

This site has been full of great info and helped us prepare for our new chicks, so glad to have found it!

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!

Thanks! I take it by your name you are a horse person? I had a mare for 27 years, sadly I had to put her down at the age of 33 a few years ago. She was an Ap/QH cross and was a great trail horse and taught me a lot.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Sounds like you have a lovely flock! I'm glad BYC has been helpful to you. It sure is a great place of learning! And now that you're a member, you'll get to meet tons of helpful people and chat on all kinds of threads.

Yes! That's our Boston Iggy. :) He is a rescue. He was left in a backyard to die in Lakeland, FL as a pup with 5 other dogs when the owners moved out. He had terrible mange and had never seen stairs or a ceiling fan (that flipped him out). He's 7 now and a great dog, albeit gassy, but that's a Boston for you.
