We just got our first chickens on April 11, 2020. Hubby had some chickens as a kid but its my first time. I went a little crazy ordering from the hatchery as I wanted some cute eggs along with different breeds. I ordered 20 and got 21. Here is a list of the ones I ordered Mt. Healthy Hatchery in Cincinnati OH

2 AMERAUCANA
1 BARNEVELDER
1 BLACKK GIANT
1 BLUE ROCK
1 BUCKEYES
1 COLOMBIAN ROCK CROSS
1 CREAM LEGBAR
2 CUCKOO MARANS
1 FRENCH BLACK COPPER MARAN
1 LAVENDER ORPINGTON
1 NOIR MARAN
1 OLIVE EGGER
1 RI BLUE
1 RHODE ISLAND RED
2 S L WYANDOTTE
2 WELSUMMERS

So I was at TSC one day picking up a few things and they had ducklings and bantams in the same trough :(.This bothered me becuase the bantams were getting ran over by the ducks. They were cute too and on sale for 99cents so i figured I could at least rescue some of them and bring them home :D. I picked up 12 bantams and 6 ducklings. 1 bantam died after i got them home but the rest are doing well. Omg I love these duckies they are sooooo cute and sweet. So now we have 32 chickens and 6 ducklings.

We got chickens for eggs and to help with bugs etc. We have 5 sheep that are raised for wool. I'm a spinner, knitter, weaver, quilter, all around crafter. Hubby retired from the Air Force a few years ago and we now have a small farm (which ive always wanted, I was a city girl). We also have 2 cats that were supposed to be barn cats that came with the sheep but i'm a sucker and they ended up in the house lol.

I found BYC when researching information on chickens and coops etc. I love this website/community everyone is so helpful!

Now to figure out how to start an article to update as we go along with this project of coop/run build etc.

It's amazing, how similar your intro is to my situation, But I have no ducks.
