Hi there! Iām a new chicken chicken and quail mom living in southern Arizona. Iāve had chickens since January and this is my first time raising birds. Right now I have a total of 12 chicks in a variety of breand 4 quail.
My current breeds are Production red, Easter Egger, Sapphire, Buff Silkie, French Black Copper Marans, and Dark Brahmas, as well as Coturnix quails. I have 6 more chicks coming in April which will be Olive Eggers, Cinnamon Queen, Austria White and Black Sex Link.
So far Iām loving raising chickens in my backyard. They are full of personality and a blast to hang out with. Iām looking forward to their eggs too!
Besides raising chickens, Iām a mom to one boy who is about to turn 18, I have three dogs, and Iām trying to build a food forest on my property. By day Iām a writer, editor, and associate publisher.
