Hello BYCF! I am a few weeks new to this Backyard chickens site and I feel so lukcy to have found you all! I am in the Pacific Northwest, Washington State. I started with 5 Buff Orbingtons on April 28th of this year and now I am raising 7 more mixed little chicks in my brooder to introduce to the original five soon.
I have found such peace in raising these amazing creatures. We bought two acres of land this year and the property came with a coop so we bought chicks and then realized the coop was not in great shape so yes cart before the horse. But we got the coop and run all fixed up and have since added more space and a fenced in free range space for them. Pretty much all our disposable income has become chicken funds. We just love it!
