New chicken coop.

I love it!
It looks hi and dry. Once you have windows it will have more light in there for them.
One thing i notice are your perches. Are they removable for cleaning? Your going to have to clean under View attachment 1516107 there the most. My husband built mine so they set in cradle and i can lift them out on cleaning day and get in there with the shovel to clean. My roosts are cedar poles reputed to repel leg mites and lice.
My hubs screwed them in but we can always take the screws out! Thanks for the suggestion! And I love the cedar branches where did you get them from?

We have some low lying land down by a river and we go there and look for branches that should be removed anyway.
One other thing i notice about your coop. That center support beam that crosses under the rafters. If you get some lighter breeds , leghorns or bantys they will likely roost up there in the spaces between the rafters. We incerted 2×8 pieses to fill those spaces in my coop. Dont like them over my head for reasons you can imagine!
I love your post and pictures.
Keep them coming!

Whats your snow load in ND? The rafters look like there 24" OC. Might want to add a couple support poles to keep the roof from collapsing if your area is prone to lots of heavy wet snow.
Snow is mostly dry up here except when we get snow at the beginning and end when the temp still fluctuates a bit, that is not to say snow weight won't cause a problem, Part of the reason we slanted the roof so we could brush it off easily. I am honestly more worried about the wind up here we get very high winds up here I'm afraid it will blow away. we will get wind damage easier than snow weight! I will bring these concerns with the hubs though because we just kinda winged the design and he may not have taken that stuff in consideration! I am grateful for all the suggestions! It totally helps!!!!

Hey looks great to me old hat at coops ventilation is the biggest problem for most but
cover any opening with hardware cloth then windows can be put on hinges opening them for cross ventilation living where you do frostbite will happen without proper ventilation
