Hello all,
New here, and new to chickens. I guess I'll just go ahead with the template questions.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are brand new to chickens. We got our first chicks two days ago (April 14th).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 4 chicks right now, and I'm picking up two more today.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Our first four are Dominiques, and I am picking up two Buckeyes today. They are from the same farm, and were brooded together till we picked up the Dominiques. Hopefully, they will not have any issues being reintroduced to one another.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far, I am having so much fun just watching the chicks antics.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Whoa, too many to list. Music (listening and playing), reading, shooting guns, learning new things, fencing, etc.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married (23 years in August), a father to 4, with an unofficially adopted 17-year old. We live in Mid-Michigan. I am a police sergeant, and my wife is an OB nurse. we also have a pug, two cats, and a corn snake.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC through Google searches a few weeks ago, when we finally decided to make the leap into chicken parentage.
