Hi all -
My name is Kim and I'm new to the chicken world. We spent almost a year researching putting together our coop and yard and, earlier this year added our first chickens. We currently have two 17 week old Polish/D'Anvers bantams, one 9-week old Mottled Java, one 9-week old French Wheaten Maran, one 8-week old Buff Orphington, one 8-week old Buff Rock, one 8-week old Barred Rock, one 8-week old Brahma, one 8-week old Wyandotte Blue Red Lace. What a learning experience having these all for the past 7 weeks. A friend suggested I join his forum to have help with all my questions.
I think we're at the point now where I'm worried that some of these might be roos. We want a hen-only coop. I've fallen in love with all their little personalities. At this age are there things that I can be looking for to determine if any are roos so that I can start preparing myself emotionally for having to rehome them? I'm particularly concerned about my Wyandotte but everything I've read says they're really hard to sex so I'm trying not to worry.
