New Chicken Family in Kingston, MA!

Hello everyone, I am new (soon to be) chicken owner and I assume I will have a bazillion questions

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes! my family (myself, wife and boy/girl twin toddlers) are getting our first chicks on 4/4/19.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We will be getting 8

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 x Plymouth Barred Rocks
2 x Buff Orpington
2 x Easter Egger
2 x Silver Laced Wynadotte

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Not sure yet, but can't wait for the learning/responsibility aspects for the children.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Mountain Biking, Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Hiking, Running, Movies (horror!), TV, etc.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 3 cats currently and 8 chicks on the way!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google and Youtube!
