Very nice. I've seen that design before. Very good for loading a lot of food and reducing waste. The way you have it on blocks should minimize the chance of mice getting into it. I have a PVC pipe-based feeder, but the idea behind the restricted opening is very similar.

One possible problem to watch out for: If your chickens do end up scooping out a significant amount of feed, then you might need to use a piece of plastic to block the bottom 20% or so of the opening. I did that and it made a major difference.

I made a similar one but used a 5 gallon bucket with 2 ports. Only issue I've had was that I cut them a bit too far from the bottom and our white leghorn roo can't get his comb inside the ports and has to sit as clean up after the others. Not really a problem from an efficiency standpoint.
