New chicken hobbyist in Tehachapi, CA

How great that you don't have to wait for eggs! And, with those girls, it's probably a lovely basket of eggs that you get to collect.

This is a great group of generous and experienced people who are happy to help you with challenges, offer support if you need it and encourage you every step of the way.

Welcome to BYC, Nicole!
Thanks! Yes, their eggs are beautiful and so delicious since I switched their feed & have started allowing them to free range for several hours a day.

Would you say 5-7 eggs/day is a good number for 4 buff orpingtons, 4 ameraucanas, and 2 olive eggers? Some days it's as high as 8, but that's been rare so far.
