New chicken keeper in Ohio.

Hi to all! I’m a city girl who is now on 10 acres with paddocks and a barn and a log cabin. Never, ever did I imagine or aspire to being a country mouse, but it’s been great so far! Our first animal here is our cat “Kitty,” who came to us starving and wormed her way into the house. In March we got 15 chicks in various ways, of various breeds and, of course, two genders, unspecified so far.
So it’s been a learning experience for a couple just past our mid-50s. I’ve learned most of my info by stalking this site. Great stuff!
I love God, my husband, reading and making my house a home. I have a BA in Psychology, which I’m absolutely positive will help me understand my chickens . I hope so, since I don’t much use it elsewhere.

Thanks! I forgot to mention I have 2 boys 27 & 18, and a daughter in Heaven. We love where we live. My hubby says it’s a great property with a fabulous barn and, oh yeah, it’s got a house, too. One day we’d like his daughter and her hubby to take the big house and we build a smaller one on the property. That’s a dream and a big expense, but it would be wonderful grandkids around!
