New chicken lady here

Welcome to BYC, Tauni. I agree, you're going to need ventilation, and more than average because of our very hot summers. You're also going to need access for cleaning. It will need to be placed in deep shade, in a well drained area. Sitting it inside a covered, hardware cloth run would be ideal.
If you could post some demensions it would be helpful.
 
hello my name is Tauni and I just received my first 4 chicks. I was also just gifted a big Noah’s ark boat I’m converting into a coop!! Any tips for keeping chickens in north Texas much appreciated! Also wonder if you can tell if a chick is a rooster at 3 weeks old? I’ve read mixed things. View attachment 3661283
