So I’m not new to chickens per se, but I’m new to raising my own. I just got some “pullets” and I’m really suspicious of one in my group of five. I dare not refer to “it” as a he, but I think “it” might be. The only thing I notice is “it’s” tail feathers look different than the others. I’d say it’s about 4 weeks old maybe. The tail on this Easter-egger is more erect than the other chicks. the chick is twice the size of the other chicks which could just be it’s older, but I’m just having a bad feeling it’s a roo. Does the tail give any clues at this early age? The tail sits up more erect and it is curved somewhat on the end. do hens look that way too this early? i wouldn’t mind one rooster but I really need layers so Hoping I got the pullets I requested!
