Hello!
I'm totally new to raising chickens! We just got our first 6, only 2 weeks ago. Sadly, 2 babies died at almost a week old, so I replaced them with 2 new babies before my husband and 3 boys noticed...a white lie, but i couldn't break their little hearts so soon. I've made some adjustments and taken some precautions and so far, everyone is doing great! Our 2 week olds are: 1 white/silver silkie, 1 blue Cochin bantam and 2 ameracaunas. Our 1 week old babies are a bantam silver laced wyondette and a silver laced polish. Names are Pickles, Hey hey, Kiwi, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather!
We've already moved them from one box to a bigger one and I'm CONSTANTLY obsessing over keeping them healthy. It's making me a bit neurotic, but i love them like crazy... so I'm cool with it!
