In the Brooder
Hi folks!
My name is Heather. I have worked as a foster to injured and sick wildlife and domestic animals of all sorts for many years. I am also a retired dog groomer and trainer. I retired after an accident where I broke my spine in 2 spots, got a head injury, my liver was lacerated almost in half. So I retired and am focusing on walking again atm. Two weeks ago my daughter was asked if she wantwd a free chick. The chicks family and Mom had been killed by a cat. He had also been mauled. Over 6 weeks we have worked with him but due to an injury on his foot he has trouble walking etc. Vet said euthanize but we decided to make him our house chicken. This little guy has opened up the amazing ways of chicken keeping and we adore him. Muffin is super attatched to us and we want to be able to put him out to graze during the day. So I started thinking about getting him a buddy. Well we found one. I was at a livestock show and was passing a dumpster when I heard a weird trill sort of cry. I followed it and found this one chick in a box of dead ones. Well we brought her home. I joined this and other groups to learn as much as I can for my little two house chicken flock! I really look forward to meeting you all and your lovely chooks too. We are located in Southwestern Ontario near Toronto. All the best to you and yours❤
