Hello fellow chicken folks. I am new to raising chickens for food. I am not a person that jumped on the bandwagon to avoid grocery store prices per se. We had planned on raising chickens and maybe other livestock when we bought our 3 acres in the country. Right now I have 12 straight run barnyard mix chicks that are I weeks old.
We’re in the process of setting up a small coop for them until we finish making a metal shed into a coop on one side and storage for the other. Don’t worry, we will make certain the shed has plenty of air circulation for summer time. Besides they will have a 10x10 chain link dog run to play in during the day.
