Hi there, I am relatively new to chickens...about 2 years now. We have fancy breeds and other layers too. We live on a farm and have 2 small children. Before my last baby when I was pregnant I could not ride my horses or do much of anything, so I thought....how about chickens?? So we started with three bantam cochins which we LOVED! We have raised all of our chickens here from peeps except for 5 newly added barred rocks I got a month ago. I have some that live right outside my back door too, and I wake up to my little serama roo every morning. I love them all and am having a blast just learning about all of them and discovering all of their mighty personalities!
