My husband built me a lovely chicken coop over the winter. So we started with a dozen chicks in February now we have 18! I can't believe how much I love them. They're wonderful.
 
We got 4 pullets at the weekend and already I adore them they are so much fun
 
For mother's day my husband kept me pick two laying hens at a local feed store, however yesterday while we were watching them peck away....the larger one started crowing like a rooster. He or she has been all this morning as well. Do you think I was sold a rooster?

You can take some pictures of it and post it to the what breed or gender is this section. People round here are pretty good at telling the difference. I would say though that if it is crowing it is a roo.
