New Chicken Mama here 🐔🙋‍♀️

I just realized, after reading about the deep bedding option, that this coop would not be able to do that because of the floor being shallow. It doesn't look like I can pile material in there because of where the nesting boxes are. 😥 Does it appear that way to you also?
Even though your new coop may not be perfect, it is sturdy and that is very important. Most of us started with a coop that wasn't perfect.
We made improvements, built new coops, and held onto our originals for brooding, quarenteening, or hospital coops, or just for a smaller flock.
Put hardware cloth over the window so that you can keep it open for ventilation. Put some straw in the nesting boxes and some pine flakes on your floor. You will enjoy it and the birds will too. 🙂
Just resist the urge to add more chickens, don't overcrowd, give them a large covered run, and it will be fine.

Welcome! I had 6 birds in a 4x6 coop, but made sure they went in the run for the day so they had more room to do their chicken things. The recommended spacing is 4 sq ft per bird in coop, 10 sq ft per bird in pen, 12” roost space, and 1 sq ft ventilation per bird. Those are the minimums. So 6 birds would meet your coop size. 🐣🐥
