Further research into the town ordinances:I'm looking at Summerville, SC as a spot to relocate, and my understanding is that they don't allow chickens.
At least according to the realtor who represents one of the homes I like.
How are you able to keep chickens in Summerville? Was I given bad information?
Seriously thinking my best strategy is to get an ESA letter for my flock.
I read that as yes you can keep poultry as long as you keep them on your property.Further research into the town ordinances:

Am I reading these correctly.
"Sec. 4-4. - Poultry at large.
It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow any chickens, ducks, geese or other poultry of any kind or description to be at large within the corporate limits of the municipality, except on lands owned, leased or controlled by such person.
(Code 1982, § 3-4)"
So Poultry is allowed, right?
