I'm new to raising chickens so I'll have tons of questions. I currently have 6 Black Sex Link hens (aka Black Stars) they are almost 20 weeks old and I think they may start laying soon.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

So glad you could join our community! Waiting for that first egg is a killer. Seems like it takes forever and a day, but when you finally find that first treasure, it's one you remember for the rest of your days.

Welcome to our roost! :)

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I found my first egg right after my initial post, but none since then. I think it may have been a fluke. It was a tiny egg too. It was an interesting experience. My largest hen was making this God awful squaking noise, I thought there was something in the coop. So I checked on her, but didn't see anything. Later on I checked on them before I went to bed and found a little egg hiding in the corner. No squaking since then so I am assuming the squak was her egg song? (The smaller egg is from my hen, the larger one is an Eggland's Best large cage free egg)
