(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We recently moved from an urban home to a 5-acre farm back in October 2017. There was already a coop on the property & we've always wanted chickens. My aunt was getting rid of all her chicks & gave us a few: 4 orpington hens & a silkie rooster in February.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
5 but, we are looking at getting a variety of chicks in the near future.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Orpington hens & a sweet silkie roo.

I am a 50-year-old retired nurse, now stay-at-home mom to an 18-year-old step-son, 11-year-old triplets (2 girls, 1 boy) and, a 9-year-old son. My husband works from home. We love in upstate SC...in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains
We have a chocolate labradoodle, 2 orphan cats that we bottle-fed, a ball python, a pastel ball python, a stripe-kneed tarantula, a lionhead bunny and, our chicks.
