New Chicken Member

Hi all,
I have 15 hens, 3 roosters and 3 guinea hens.
2 buff orpingtons
3 australorps
3 aricauna
3 barnvelders
1 blue maran
3 cuckoo marans
1 buff orpington rooster
2 olive egger roosters
They were all born in March 2019. They have not started laying yet. Wondering if the 3 roosters will be too much. The guinea hens sort of act like police and don't allow the roosters to get overly aggressive.....so far. I am already attached to all of them.

Hello and welcome to BYC. I wouldn't have any advice on roosters as we have just got a cockerel for first time ourselves.

From what I've heard, three may be too many. The rule I read was one rooster per ten hens, BUT if they're raised together maybe it'll be different? I'm not sure! Keep us updated on your chicken journey and welcome to BYC!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens kinda depends on the cockerel (males under a year) they may all be be gentlemen but probably not better to home at least one

I've always heard 1 roo per 10 hens, even then the rooster may over breed them.
If some fight him or are better at getting away, he'll just get the slow ones.

I would try and rehome one if not two of the cockerels (or eat them). They are pretty young right now, so the aggression won't show up for a bit yet. When their full fledged hormones kick in they'll be over mating your hens and probably clashing with each other.
