New chicken mom from Washington state!

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! This is the first time I've ever joined or posted on a message board. I was so excited to see all the replies! Did I read somewhere that this site can be addictive? Oh dear, it's my first day and I've thought about it all day! Too funny!
It's nice to be able to read and connect with such cool peeps!

When I opened the barn door this morning, the girls came running so fast to see me, two of them ran into my legs! I've never laughed so much- who knew chickens could bring someone so much joy!

Thanks again!

We are pretty close -- just a hop, jump and skip away up the lovely I-5 corridor. Have fun with the chickens! You'll be wanting more soon! And ducks, geese, emus . . . this site is dangerous! I have a 4 and an 8 year old boy (and 11 and 15 year old girls) , so I can totally understand how your kids feel -- although my 4 year old complained today that if we DIDN'T live on a farm, we wouldn't have so much WORK to do. I had just given him the difficult job of feeding leftover bread to our chickens

You'd think it was torture!
