They will be locked in a coop (double walled, insulated, solid floor) at night and a small run during the day if I have to go out, but I wanted to let them run in the yard during the day while I'm home. My dogs don't bother them and there aren't any predators during the day to worry about, especially when my dogs are outside. The only thing causing an issue is the plants. Nothing has ever been toxic to my dogs, my cat, or the wild birds, so I was hoping I could fence off the majority of them to protect them from the chickens.
