I am a beginner chicken Mom, just got my two hens (10 weeks old now) about a month and a half ago. They are surprisingly very good pets. My son and I couldn't pick names for them and one was big and one was little so we call them Big Bird and Little Bird. Little bird started out being sweet and docile and now she is quite a little brat! Big bird didn't like being held at first but now she is very lovable and cuddly. I worry about every little thing with them but they are healthy and happy so far. I am still working on fixing up the coop inside and made a brooding box out of a bucket and I made a perch but am going to make it better because I am learning whats best by my mistakes and by asking other chicken lovers what to do and what works best. Its fun!!
