Hi everybody! I’m new to chickens and just inherited a small flock from my neighbor.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Im not sure! We are building a run and it seems anywhere from 9-16 chickens are loose and available. I hope it will be about8-12
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have no idea! Posting a photo so maybe someone can help me find out.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
eggs eggs eggs and watching them
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, reading, cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have about 4 acres in a mixed suburban area with 2 houses and a barn. We have 4 Tennessee Myotonic goat wethers who work hard keeping the grass cut and fertilizing And 2 dogs, 3 cats inside to keep us company. The chickens have been fun to watch and feed treats for 2 years, now I get to call them my own.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have known about BYC for years since I am a veterinarian and have run across the site while doing research.
Below is the main part of the flock including Mr. Rooster. Anybody know what they are?
