Came across this site and absolutely love it. Wanted to definitely join for additional knowledge from experienced chicken owners. Haven't had any issues presently but I review this site often. I have 6 hens and 3 roosters. I know, too many roosters...one is actually separated because he was being picked on. Since all were incubated and hatched by us, I really hate to get rid of any. Soooo, I will keep them as safe as I can. Thank you for allowing me to join the group.

Hello Audrie, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

If you don't want to rehome the roosters, you can form a bachelor pad. Leaving that many males with that few females will definitely stress the girls.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

So glad you decided to join us. @DobieLover has given you a great suggestion, if you keep the boys separate and away from the girls, out of sight out of mind, they usually can live a happy lives together.

Welcome to our community!

The two that are 20+ weeks old are separated. I do have a younger rooster with the crew. There isn't a problem, yet! I've been watching as I don't want the hens to be harmed. Thank you for the idea!! Will definitely do that.

So, you don't actually have roosters. You have 3 cockerels and 6 pullets. In the spring when the hormone surge begins, those girls are going to be tormented if all 3 cockerels have access to them.
The younger cockerel may not have come into sexual maturity yet.
