New chicken mom.

I have wanted chickens for many years and finally got the courage to go forward after doing a lot of reading. I got 12 baby chickens from MyPetChicken, all female. 2 Wheaten Marans, 2 Blue/Black/Splash Cochin, 2 Blue Copper Marans, 1 Ameribella, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, 2 Speckled Sussex and 2 New Hampshire Reds. I live in NH. The chickens are now 6 1/2 weeks old and will be moving into their new coop and run we just finished building. I have one female Great Dane who is 8 years old. Love this chickens, they are fascinating and I am happy I made the decision!

Welcome. I moved from on the border of MA and NH a little over two years ago. Love New England, especially NH. You have a lot of predators that love chickens. You can protect them with 1/2 inch hardware cloth and a ceiling for aerials and climbers. You will want to have an apron also. It is when you attach hardware cloth to the bottom of your run and the run it out on the ground 18-inches and out rocks or earth on top of the hardware cloth, If you live in northern NH, you may also consider an electric fence.
