What a good heart you have, rescuing those poor birds! I hope you are finding everything you need here. I really like the articles:

To look for articles on your own:

A. Use the SEARCH button, but use the Advanced Search choice, and select ARTICLES at the top of the box. Just enter your keyword(s) and scroll through your results!

B. I find it helpful to notice the rating and reviews. All articles are by BYC members, and all the reviews/ratings are as well. The ratings help a newbie like me sort the most useful and reliable articles.

C. You can bookmark the articles or posts you think you want to refer to again using that bookmark icon at the top of articles or posts. You can find them again by clicking on your own avatar and looking at the list of bookmarks you have built up!

I rescued 4 chickens (2 Isa browns, and 2 Easter Eggers, 10 month old) from an abusive situation last December. They had been kept in a 2 x 4 cage with a wire mesh bottom, fed only scratch grains, water dish was filthy and cage was disgusting and stinky, and, of course, not laying eggs. They had never free-ranged or even touched grass before. I had zero experience with chickens, but I knew I had to get them out of that situation. It took several weeks but I convinced the owner to give them to me.

From websites and chatrooms like this, I was able to learn everything I needed to know and get my girls set up in a healthy and safe living environment. They are thriving and producing lots of eggs. I have since taken on two more chicks, (1 Cinnamon Queen and 1 Creme Leghorn).

Everytime something new happens with the girls, I run to BYC site and search for other members who might be able to tell me what's going on. I have learned SO much and am grateful you all share your experiences.
I bet those chickens are pretty happy! Good job and welcome.
