Hi y'all. I'm a 1st time chicken owner and we're starting out with 5 in our flock. 4 of them came from TSC and the 5th is an Ayam Cemani we received from the neighbor. They are all 3 weeks old right now and I am having a blast learning all about them. They each have unique personalities, that's for sure. :)

While I am new to chickens, I'm not new to BYC - I have been educating myself here for the last 6 or so months so that I could make sure I was fully prepared to take care of my flock. You guys are so dang knowledgeable. Thank you for the wisdom!

These are supposed to be: Buff Orpington (who I've been told is actually a red sexlink), Barred Rock, Brown Pullet, Bantam and the Ayam Cemani who I am hoping is the only roo. :)

Great picture of some nice little birds.

They are a blast to raise. Each one different from the other.

And if you need us, we'll try to answer questions that may pop
up from time to time. There's some pretty smart chicken people
here. I'm not one, don't ask me anything.

Spook

! Great to have you in our community! You did it right - research first, then birds! Feel free to ask any questions you might have along the way - BYC is a friendly bunch!

Welcome!

Adorable little ones you have there. I like to use chickenalities to describe them

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Awesome! I'm in Saint Albans (Kanawha County) - having a blast with these little chickies so far!
My husband says we are going to trade all of our dogs (4 of them) for more chickens because they mind better!
