When I take my girls to the coop/run, do I lock them in the coop at night or allow them to come out and into the run during the night? I read where it is not advisable to put the food/water in the coop only the run. Thank you.

Your chickens will not come out at night/when dark. I prefer to close the pop door at night even though the run is secure and attached. I get up early anyway and like to check on them. I do have two different pop doors, one solid and the other one with a heavy wire screen - if I feel more ventilation is needed I can use the screened door. Some prefer automatic doors/timers.
