Your pullets reproductive systems are still maturing. Once the the one that is experiencing the shell-less eggs works the kinks out of her system, she should be okay. I would limit the "trail mix" to about a 1/8 cup per day.

Thank you for the info. The trail mix for all 4 hens 1/8 of a cup or 1/8 cup each hen? it seems strange that the hen was laying normal eggs daily then stopped laying around the time of this odd egg?

1/8 cup TOTAL to be split amongst them all.

Welcome I’m new also. I recently got 8 Rhode Island reds chics , 17 days old. This is my first time owning chickens & really enjoy having them in my back yard. How old were your hens when they started laying ?
