Hi, new to all of this and loving every minute :) I have four hens and one very handsome rooster all Buff Orpington's. I also have an Easter Egger roo still at the chicken hotel ( a friends house ) he is awaiting my coop to be finished. I have had these guys since July 30 so only a few days. We got our first egg on the 31st and one yesterday we are going to gather about 7 and try for a hatch, I really want the one hen to sit on them so I was wondering if I just collect some and put her on them a d see what happens?

Is your new coup going to be separated from your orps?

placing a clutch of eggs is worth a try. You cannot force a hen to go broody. However, buff orps have the tendency to be VERY broody.

Chickens go broody(set on eggs) when they feel like it, some breeds feel like it much more often than others - silkies come to mind. Often people keep some just for the "broody aspect," so mama does it all rather than using an incubator
 
Welcome to the site! :) Buff Orpingtons are fantastic, I just got my first Buff a few months ago and have fallen in love with the breed. So, so sweet and silly. <3

If she's old enough to lay then she's old enough to go broody, whether or not she wants to is the key. Is the rooster the same age? If he's not mature the eggs won't be fertilized anyway.
