Hi again. I have been quite busy with the babies. I have 10 total baby chicks all of which are in a playpen inside with a heat lamp on them right now. 2 Australops 2 Black Jersey Giants 2 Barred Rock 2 Easter Eggers and 2 Production Reds. This was a result of a trip to get 4 chicks. I am, at present, trying to get the coop going with some things I already have here. MY father is retired so I have enlisted him to help me build the coop. I already have a double cabinet I am using for the hens to lay in. I am putting the doors to the outside so I can gather eggs without going into the pen and I have cut out openings for the girls to get into it from inside. I'll post pictures as I go. Here is what I have for now.







I'll need to put a lock or latch on the ouside to keep the hens in and the predators out.

 
HI, I don't know exactly what breeds I have except for the two brahmas. All of the others are mixed pullets. Maybe someone can help identify them for me. I have two groups, about two weeks apart in age.

Laurie - try posting the pics in the "What breed or gender is this" section of the forum - I'm sure lots of people will love to guess! Just create a new thread there. :)
 
The golden/yellow ones with the stripes on the wings look very similar to my Production Reds but I am by no means an expert. They are lovely though. :)
