I’ve been raising chickens for the last year and looking to learn and share. I joined today bc I need help with an injured chicken. Not sure if I post that here but I’ll give it a shot.

I came home from work and found a rooster that can’t walk. I checked his leg bones and they seem fine but he is crouched over and can’t move well. Seems like it’s his hips.

What do I do? He’s my dominant rooster and he’s a big boy! In fact, that’s his name. 😝

I'm not sure if you could tell if his hip was dislocated or not or how much you can invest in helping him; bringing him to a vet, if they will see him wouldn't be a bad idea. I would probably try to separate him out from the flock where he can still see everyone (like in a dog kennel) to help him stay off of it and see if he recovers. He is a nice looking rooster! Best of luck to him and Welcome to BackYard Chickens!
