New Chicken Owner behavior Question

Being new to chickens, I am still learning what their instincts are and what the flock dynamic is. Ironically, I had no food when the chicken jumped up, but it was probably not aware of that. It is fascinating to me to watch how animals interact with each other and the world around them. In understanding them better, I can offer better care (that is my feeling and may not be the same for others).

Anyway, I have more info on what behaviors I may be seeing now.

That is what I was looking for from the beginning...just didn't get that across to well!
