Same here Diva, my 4 younger hens are starting to lay now so I'm up to 10-11 eggs a day, gathered an egg yesterday that is really long, bet it's a double yolkSounds like you are going to need more layers to meet the demand. Nice to meet you Mark. Hope you are enjoying BYC as much as we are.

Oh man, sorry about that.Nope. Bobcat destroyed my entire laying flock last year and decided to just stick with Cornish. Cornish were protected with an enclosed run.
Hi Folks, Mark here, My granddaughter and I picked out 12 pullets at our local feed store back in early March. 4 Rhode Islands, 4 Black sex links and 4 Americauas. Kept them in the house while I was completing my coop, just in time as the little cheepers were wreaking havoc in my man cave, they all started laying around 21,22 weeks, I have only lost two, introduced a Marans rooster about 3 months ago, I am thoroughly enjoying them, watching their behavior is really interesting at times, one of the americauas is a real flyer but after two clippings I've got her grounded, I let them free range as often as possible, now I have more egg customers than I can supply, going to have to increase the flock soon
