Hi! I’ve been lurking on here a few months in anticipation of the day I acquired chickens. And that day came yesterday when I adopted two young hens who had to be rehomed when their previous owner could no longer keep them due to housing regulations. I’m new to all this but am in love with my two new hens already! They will be laying in about a month, I’m told. Can anyone help me identify their breed(s)? Thank you!

Oh, I’m a single mom and nurse and trying to live as independently and with as much self-sufficience as I can.

Red one looks to be a Rhode Island Red, not sure about the other, I don’t know that breed.
