New Chicken Owner Here...

Help! My chicken just laid her 1st egg and it has a soft shell. A few days prior to this, she's laid a yolk. Is this normal. Thanks!

It is common for new layers - takes awhile to work all the kinks out of the system

also, now that she is laying make sure she has enough calcium. layer feed has some, and giving things like oyster shells might help too.
