from Ohio. So glad you joined. My advice is to never make a pen using nails, only screws. That way they can be enlarged in needed. Chicken math tends to take over after a while.
Easter eggers are great chickens as long as you make sure they have water in the winter. Mine stopped laying the first winter when I let them eat the snow cause the water would freeze in about an hour. The second winter I put a light in a cement block to create just enough heat to keep it deforested and eggs all winter. Tried the snow thing again for the third winter and the light bulb for the forth winter same results.
