(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Just bought our first baby chicks a little less than a week ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 6
(3) What breeds do you have? Rhode Island Red, Speckled Sussex, Easter Egger & Olive Egger
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Fresh eggs and watching my children learn how to take care of animals.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Technology, football (American), video games
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 3 children ranging from 13 years to almost 1 1/2 years. We have two dogs (Shih Tzu's) and hope to add more livestock and more chickens. I am the IT Manager of a small rural hospital in South Texas.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC by searching for chicken coop ideas & plans. One of the links was to The Happy Chicken Coop that linked here. Only known about it for a few days and decided to join.
