Hi All,
I am new to the backyard chicken world. My husband and I currently have 6 chickens and one has been showing signs of decreased appetite, weight loss, and fatigue for a couple weeks now. Initially she had a distended squishy crop so I separated her and withheld food and water for 24 hours. Treated with apple cider vinegar and offered Greek yogurt. She didn't seem interested in the yogurt but her crop improved. I also noticed she had green liquidy very small poops. Her appetite also continued to be poor and she wasn't even drinking water. I took advice I saw on here and gave some sugar water which she quickly drank like she never saw water before but she still is barely eating. I have offered Greek yogurt, scrambled eggs, her usual feed, and meal worms. We are going on two weeks of trying to nurse her back to health. We live in a city so there is no vet comfortable treating chickens. My husband also doesn't want a vet bill even if there was. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! I know she probably is very had being separated from her flock but I am worried about her rejoining before she is stronger.
