In the Brooder
Hello to everyone,
I'm new to this site. I have a lot to learn about chickens. My 8 year old received three baby chicks from his teacher at the end of May and we added 1 more that same day. We have two Americana hens and two Rhode Island Reds (one is a Rooster). We would like to raise a lot of chickens for fresh eggs, but how many is to may? Do we need to separate the rooster from the hens?
I can raise cats and dogs and children, but this chicken thing is different. I'm a wife and mother, we have 3 boys ages 20, 17 and 8. I found this site today and thought what the heck, I will give it a try.
Thank you!
