BYC is the best place to come to for all of your needs!! I had a rooster that was a Bantum, so pretty small. I thought that he was a she. He was pretty slow in the development of his comb, talons, and crow. I noticed often that he was grabbing at the necks of my females (apparently, a common rooster trait). I just thought he/she was setting dominance. Then one morning at 4:30 he found his voice... and a new home, sadly. I love roosters, but my neighbors not so much.

Neighbors can be so narrow-minded, lol.

Personally, I like to hear the roosters. Sort of makes up for not having my own.

I just got a pair because the lady had to get rid of her rooster due to a neighbor, she tried the crow collar but it didnt work.

I had a feeling he was a rooster. I kept telling him he was going to be a hen, but I had a feeling he wasn't listening.

So I somehow picked out 3 Dixie rainbow roosters lol. What do I do now? My roosters outnumber my hens...Do I keep just one rooster and buy some more pullets? Can I keep multiple roosters or will they just fight? I really love all my dixies, they seem more bold and curious then the golden sex links. Maybe just because they are all roosters?? Lol I wonder how well new birds would get along with my current tiny flock. Oh yes and for clarification, the bottom two pics of the bigger white bird was the unknown. I threw in a rooster pic after the baby pics just for fun because he loves my shiny camera so much.

I'll post the pic in the other forum, as well, just to see how much more confirmation I can get. Thanks
Yes never keep more than one rooster unless you have a huge flock.

We run 2 roosters per coop, it depends on breed ect......we run about 2 roos to 7-10 hens and it works out great. We have about 15 breeds like that.

I agree! I enjoy them as well. My neighbors are very odd ducks anyways. (no offense to the ducks) I am permitted to have 4 chickens but my neighbors are suing the town I live in because they are allowing me to have them. AND THEY ARE ANIMAL LOVERS, APPARENTLY??!! I don't understand some people.
