HI Everyone!
I live in Kalama, Washington which is located 40 miles north of Portland, OR on I-5. I grew up in Central Washington, but not on a farm, near a friend whose family raised chickens. I actually had a Bantam rooster when I was young.
I have turned my dark room/green house structure into my coop (8x8). I have moved my 14 variety chicks
white and black sexlinks; White Leghorn; Barred Rocks; Americanas; Rhode Island Reds) into it from the warmth of the garage and are watching them re-acclimate daily; getting more brave and actually climbing up the nesting box road to check them out already.
I have a few days, around the rain, to work on the outside fenced area, and have several plans in mind. Can't wait for the fall and some fresh eggs.
