Hello, my name is Lyle and zim a new guy, well actually Im an older guy but new to raising chickens. I have built a coop, I just ordered some hens hens just over 3 weeks ago and they are about 22 days old and I have 8 and one is suppose to be a roo. I went with mutt chickens our first time and chose easter eggers for their begginer friendly demenor. Paperwork from Cackle said the roo was a bluebell? Im not sure if that even really means anything in truth. All I know is I have 8 beautiful chickens and more than likely most of them are pullets. Good chance one is a roo and maybe more? They are beautiful hens for sure. Im very pleased with what they sent me. They seem hardy and they grow very fast. My wife and I have been workihgbhard the last several years to build fencing and coops and all the fancy backyard farmer stuff you think you might need. Not sure I needed it all and there is probably stuff I dont know yet that Im missing LOL. But we dont care we are doing it and so far so good.

So smart what you are doing as so many put the cart before the horse...get chickens then ask what to do with them.
